The two-year investigation aims to achieve a higher sensibility towards socio-political conditions, interpersonal and intrapersonal connections, and the act of becoming fearless while remaining soft and permeable. The work is a container, encyclopedia, or archive for the excavation of ancient therapies, the queering of contemporary ones, a re-appropriating, a remixing, and a reformulating of therapies in order to care, to share, to disconnect. This expansive investigation includes intimate artist-to-artist overnight sessions in the Botanic Garden VU Amsterdam, a Useless Artist Disease , meditations for Wolfgang Schäuble, the master key to De Appel Arts Centre, a hacked heart-break, and a personal narrative about a journey into the world of healing.

After a break-up one of the things couples necessarily have to do is the separation of property, to exchange the items that have been in each of the other’s holding. Taking this as a starting point I share my personal emotional rollercoaster through a collage of text, music, video, photography and object to open up a space for vulnerability. In a society of proper functioning in our jobs and daily lives, I wonder where is the space for grief and allowing to have low-energy and to share what is on our minds and hearts apart from the private? In these works I take an explorative role by investigating my own process of mourning and letting-go – even though it is said that if you are still in the process you cannot yet talk about it. Nevertheless, I take the challenge while it is still hot, as exactly this is a vital part of the exploration and exposure. In the several works aspects like the notion of time, the changing of emotional conditions, (re-) appropriation as a means to retrieve self-esteem and that of ritualistic self-help are addressed. A back- and forth negociation with re-/de-/ connecting and detachment, attempt over attempt, an overspill of actions leave the question of failure, despair or success, of where does the love go to and what does it really take to let go.
